In our first newsletter in May 2020, we informed you that Iridium would be discontinuing its Open Port system (also known as Iridium Pilot) in June 2020, meaning that it would be reaching the end of its service life.

There are currently an increasing number of incidents in which systems are failing and can no longer be repaired as there are no spare parts or even replacement systems available. Defective systems have to be replaced with new ones.

To prevent unavailability in an emergency, a decision should be made promptly about replacing the system. There are currently several systems that can be used for replacement. These include the Thales MissionLink 700 and MissionLink 200 systems. Please contact us, we will be happy to support and advise you.
