New Year, new structures

GESAT GmbH wishes you a good, successful and healthy year 2021! We look back on a time with  many limitations.

Even in this “Corona Year” 2020 the Engineering department of GESAT GmbH has tried to support all clients in a reliable and competent manner. We hope to have satisfied you with our services and that also you have overcome this difficult time well and healthy so far.

Unfortunately, a physical close contact to our clients was necessary in many situations. Hence, we have successfully introduced a very strict “Corona-Management” program to protect both, clients and employees. Even the daily work routines had to be changed and adapted according to the circumstances. The round table became a rectangular monitor – meetings and direct contact with our customers were often moved to the virtual meeting room.

Until now, the SAT and Engineering departments were united under the roof of GESAT GmbH. Due to strict rules and regulations with the customers of SAT department, the engineering department was also affected by these rules and regulations and was severely restricted.

We felt these limitations more clearly than ever in the Engineering department last year and therefore had to define new structures.

To enable the team of the Engineering Department to provide the best possible service to our clients by using all modern communication systems, we now have therefore decided to move the engineering department with all tasks and performances out of the GESAT GmbH into a seperate company called „GESAT Engineering GmbH” from 01st January 2021 onwards.

The owners/shareholders of GESAT Engineering GmbH remain the same persons as in the GESAT GmbH. Hans Pitschko will – as before – be responsible for the Engineering Department in his position as the managing director at GESAT Engineering GmbH.

The new company address will be the following:
GESAT Engineering GmbH
Paulistraße 3
65929 Frankfurt
Industriepark Höchst Geb. C880

All rights and duties, contractual relationships, assets and liabilities will be transferred legally effective from 01st January 2021 to GESAT Engineering GmbH. All contact partners as well as the organizational structure within the Engineering Department remain as before.

That allows us to be even more flexible in all areas and provide the optimal service quality to our clients “through all channels”.

We wish all our customers, partners and friends a good, successful  and primarily healthy Year 2021.

New recommended Upgrade for IsatPhone 2 Hardware

The new firmware for Inmarsat’s IsatPhone II satellite phone has been released and is available to download from the Support section of the Inmarsat website www.inmarsat.com.

Firmware version 01.04.01 supersedes the original version 01.00.00 that was released in March 2014 when IsatPhone II was launched. This is a recommended upgrade with a number of fixes and enhancements, including introduction of a new air interface encryption scheme to improve the security of communications between the phone and the GSPS ground network.

ISATPhonePro Firmware Update

We are pleased to inform you that a new IsatPhone Pro firmware version 5.6.1 has been released and is available for download from the Inmarsat website at:
http://www.inmarsat.com/support/isatphone-pro-support/

For users of 5.3.0 firmware or higher this is a recommended upgrade, meaning that the features introduced by the firmware are important but not critical for the GSPS service, including the network and the IsatPhone Pro handset.

For users who have not yet upgraded to version 5.3.0 or higher, this upgrade to 5.6.1 is considered ‘mandatory’ to avoid the phone becoming non-operational.
