Eutelsat OneWeb is particularly well suited for business-critical applications, including critical infrastructure. The main advantage of the OneWeb system over Starlink is the ability to prioritise different applications within the satellite network. Currently, up to three different application classes are supported for each user or terminal, which can be set up individually.
OneWeb services are provided and operated exclusively through Eutelsat Direct Partners (DP). Through our German DP partner, customers have an interconnect with the OneWeb backbone via direct POP connections. The POPs in Germany are currently located in Frankfurt and Bremen. Internet gateways are also located there. In Frankfurt, there are direct connections to all major cloud platforms. Dedicated connections from customer networks can also be established via the POPs. This avoids the use of Internet connections, which offers significant advantages in terms of IT security and end-to-end quality of service.
